Overview
75% off-court - 25% on court. Under the direction of the Director of Racquets, responsible for the hiring, training, and management of front desk staff. Manage the Club USTA Program and winter in-house leagues. Assist the Director of Racquets and teaching professionals in tennis, pickleball and squash planning, coordinating, and promoting all programs. Immerse in all aspects of the racquets department to gain a thorough understanding of the requirements for becoming a Director.
Responsibilities
- Tennis and pickleball privates and group lessons to all ability levels
- Have a good understanding of modern techniques and be able to demonstrate
- Participate & support other professionals in existing programming
- Create new programing
- Plan and promote the pickleball program to satisfy adult and junior member needs in the following areas: competitive, social, instructional, new member recruiting and involvement
- Assist the DRS in creating and developing new programs
- Promote the club and all programs to prospective members and the public whenever possible
- Act as a customer service representative and maintain a positive and professional attitude
Qualifications
- Maintain current RSPA/PTR minimum certification. If uncertified, the applicant must possess the desire to become certified with verifiable background in teaching tennis.
- Minimum of three years experience instructing tennis
- Experience managing teams, and leagues.
- Desire to become certified in pickleball (PPR/IPTPA)
- Must be able to effectively demonstrate all strokes and strategies.
- CPR & AED certification required.
- Desire to have a career in the racquets industry with the goal of becoming a Director of Racquets.
