The Payroll Manager is responsible for running all payrolls monthly in a compliant manner, process compliant terminations (final pay, etc.), ensure compliance with payroll related to time & attendance, minimum wage and other pay laws. In addition, they will be responsible for monthly benefits administration, ensuring compliance with regulations around benefits in partnership with the Director of People.
Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly / semi-monthly payroll for Riser Fitness employees accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Manage all aspects of payroll administration, including but not limited to tax compliance, deductions, garnishments, and benefits.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accuracy of payroll data and resolve any discrepancies.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Respond to unemployment claims and verifications of employment
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on payroll best practices and regulatory changes.
- Create and lead trainings for various teams as payroll regulations change
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of multi-state, multi-unit payroll experience, including experience in CA, WA and OR.
- 2 years of experience processing payroll in Paycom system
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a remote work setting.
- Ideal candidate is located in a state where Riser Fitness currently operates (CA, OR, WA, AZ, CO or TX)
- Ideal candidate has worked in a retail sales environment, processing sales commissions or bonus payments
