Role Summary
American Century Investments is searching for a Middle Office Operations Senior Specialist to support all functions of global markets, including but not limited to responsibility for market due diligence, risk identification, procedure improvements/controls, timely and accurate documentation, and professional communication to portfolio management and custodian.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Act as the primary middle office resource for investment and trading teams onsite by providing trade support for all asset classes, including derivatives, fixed income securities, and equities
- Monitor for and assess impacts of significant changes in markets and take appropriate actions to include notification to other Investment Operations teams
- Responsible for ensuring trade settlements in the different world global markets
- Monitor and process trade confirmations in multiple platforms and markets
- Ensure internal systems and workflows are accurately set up
- Work closely with other teams within Investment Operations to ensure accurate account positions and trade settlements
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place, driving operational improvements and maintaining documentation
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, banks, and other related counterparties, and raising concerns to address situations in a timely manner
- Maintain knowledge of market-specific processes
- Effectively communicate with internal business partners and clients
- Independently research sophisticated issues and contribute to special projects/performing unique functions with minimal direction from the manager
- Act as a resource for needed approvals, signatory items, and custodial call-backs
- Guide other team members on complicated issues
- Organize the proper individuals and teams to analyze and troubleshoot issues through the solution phase
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, and/or relevant related work experience
- 3-5 years’ experience working in Middle-Office or Back-office in a similar role involving custody or mutual fund accounting
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel & Word, Bloomberg, Visio; knowledge of Tableau preferred
- Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize work, recognize and raise issues in a timely manner
- Motivation and proficiency to drive personal development and improve the current process
- Ability to review and analyze own work, research, and problem solve based on application of previous experience
- High attention to detail

For New York and California based candidates, the salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. Actual offers are based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.
