Project Engineer – Heavy Highway Construction | San Antonio, TX
One of our esteemed clients, a leading heavy civil contractor, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take on diverse responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the project team in coordinating all aspects of construction activities.
- Support work planning and attend task meetings.
- Verify quantities and assist with payment reconciliation.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and material delivery logs.
- Coordinate material procurement and track deliveries with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure project compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Assist in change order documentation and management.
- Monitor and support project safety plans in alignment with company policies.
- Contribute to cost control and financial tracking efforts.
Qualifications:
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
- Familiarity with scheduling software and cost control principles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and PDF editing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in heavy highway construction is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
