What You'll Do
- Delivery scheduling and communicating with drivers while maintaining excellent customer service
- Build and Maintain Customer Relationships – earning their trust and preference by meeting their needs
- Ability to determine correct truck and trailer to service customers
- Accurately complete corresponding delivery paperwork and work with production, sales and customers to communicate issues with loads and delivery time
- Must be customer service driven
- Regularly communicate, interact and coordinate with internal and external customers
- Organize various components to form single shipment
- Build relationships with carriers/vendors
- Check items to be shipped against work orders to ensure that quantities, destinations, and routings are correct
- Proactively manage customer accounts, including customer contact with pending delivery issues
- Prepares position reports in Excel to display customer and contract data, material type, delivery schedule, and supplier's contract numbers
- Obtain accurate information relating to shipment dates and expected dates of delivery
- DOT Manual compliance and regulations knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize and multitask responsibilities daily
- Excellent follow up skills
- Ability to see big picture
- Ability to adapt quickly to fluid transportation circumstances
- 1 year of experience in a Customer Service role preferred
- Decision making abilities with excellent customer service in verbal and written communication
- Must be self-motivated and results driven with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Understanding of production, logistics and customer service preferred
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
