Assistant Dispatcher

CMF Transportation is a family owned and operated over-the-road trucking and logistics company. We are seeking an outgoing, energetic individual to fulfill the full-time role of Dispatch Assistant to act as a liaison between our drivers, other dispatchers, and customers.

Job Description

The Dispatch Assistant will help expedite the sharing of information and documentation between customers and drivers and will facilitate communication with other dispatchers and drivers to track and report on the status of loads. To ensure success in this position you need to maintain current knowledge of freight carrier services and be effective in communicating and problem-solving in an effective manner. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Ability and availability to be reached outside of normal business hours as needed by customers/drivers is required.

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 based on experience

Requirements

• Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment balancing time, service standards, and profitability.
• Must be able to provide clients and team members’ clear, concise updates on the status of shipments.
• Must be comfortable building and maintaining relationships with drivers and customer contacts via telephone and email correspondence.
• Assign company drivers to customer shipments by optimizing load information such as origination, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle conflict.
• The determination to work hard alongside a growing family-oriented business
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Microsoft Office & general computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Customer service experience preferred, but not required
• Must be a fluent communicator in person, telephone, and e-mail.
• Taking role must not violate a non-compete/solicit agreement.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office products.
• Must be coachable.
