Responsibilities: Under the Supervision of the Property and Facilities Manager, will take day to day direction from the Job Coach / Grounds Crew Leader, while performing grounds keeping and general grounds maintenance at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties owned and contracted Facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program /subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures. Typical tasks include but are not limited to the following: mowing, string trimming, edging lawns; pruning ornamental landscape trees and shrubs, weeding and general Grounds Maintenance and Care. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Experience as a general groundskeeper required. Must be able to work outside in a variety of extreme weather conditions. Must have the ability to perform repetitive lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to physically operate heavy machinery, commercial walk behind mowers, and other power equipment. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. May be required to perform job functions at other CMHA-CEI work sites.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must pass a pre-placement physical exam. Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.
