Shipping and Receiving Clerk

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for skilled Shipping/Receiving Clerk that has the ability to function well as part of a team. You must have very effective organizational and communication skills. Methodical by nature with a keen eye for detail which leads to reliable stock management and inventory control. Enthusiastic and willing to get involved in every aspect of warehouse management, confident communicator and all-round team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collating and processing initial order sheets for incoming and outgoing goods
• Creating and managing paperwork such as packing slips and bills of lading
• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all goods are first class
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles with fork lift truck and/or overhead hoist
• Picking and packing
• Making sure all stock is labelled and stored correctly
• Carrying out health and safety checks
• Reporting to and supporting senior staff members
• Preparing deliveries for van drivers
• Operating front end loading equipment
• Inspecting incoming goods
• Completing tasks within allotted time frames
• Operating an E.R.P. system with help/training from senior staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills including Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to function well as part of a team.
• Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety.
• Fork Lift experience of 1 year
• Experience of working in a Warehouse environment.
• Taking delivery of goods and supplies and storing of goods.
• Preparation of stock and loading of stock by hand or forklift.
• Keeping Warehouse and work area clean and tidy.
• Outlook and excel experience of 1 year
• General computer skills
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds by hand daily.

The Ideal candidate for this position is a self starter that can manage their time to complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision. This person would also be a team player that is ready to learn the skills of the job (forklifts, drill/drivers, hammer, chop saw, band saws, etc.) as well as learning skill around the shop to help assist in manufacturing when the need arises.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
