The BIM Coordinator role focuses on providing CNG engineers and designers with BIM setup and support for Revit and AutoCAD on all MEP projects.
The person in this position will be responsible for refining and updating all BIM templates, families and libraries and providing active and direct assistance and training to MEP project team members with Revit/AutoCAD skills ranging from novice to intermediate, with special emphasis on lessons learned, caveats and best practices. The person in this role also will contribute to the engineering design production for individual MEP projects and provide firm-wide Revit/AutoCAD leadership, assistance, and support.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- BIM model management and Revit/AutoCAD BIM development, as directed by CNG senior engineering team members, are the most important responsibilities in this role.
- Monitor BIM model quality, ensuring data integrity and adherence to project specifications and create and maintain CNG’s Revit MEP models and AutoCAD MEP drawing packages per company standards and processes
- Coordinate with external and internal project teams regarding project scope and model/drawing configuration
- Coordinate Revit and AutoCAD file exchanges with external team members
- Provide training on BIM software and procedures to project team members
- Revit and AutoCAD technical support for all team members (internal and external)
- Lead regular meetings to address BIM model clashes, design issues, and project updates
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES:
- Education and Experience: 4 years combined education and/or work experience, preferably in an MEP firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Design/Drafting, OR
- Associate Degree in Design/Drafting and 2 years’ work experience in related Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) discipline
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
- Knowledge of construction processes, building design principles, and industry standards
- The Ideal candidate will have a strong background in BIM, Revit, and AutoCAD as well as a great attitude, technical expertise, and customer service skills.
TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced knowledge/expertise using Revit and AutoCAD, Autodesk Certified Professional or Autodesk Certified Expert preferred
- Proficiency in Bluebeam
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Office Suite, including Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Current valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug test
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday – 8:00AM – 5:30PM
- Tuesday – Thursday – 7:30AM – 5:30PM
- Friday - 7:30AM – 12:00PM
WORK LOCATION:
- San Antonio, Texas
