Preventative Maintenance Technician

This is a 2nd shift position. 2nd shift hours are 4 pm to 2:30 am Monday through Thursday with the possibility of overtime on Fridays.
Limited weekend work is required.

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Maintenance department with the Preventative Maintenance program. This employee will develop and implement a PM schedule for all equipment for the company.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities::

• • Contribute to continuous improvement
• • Team Player, communicate effectively
• • Uses existing procedures and basic problem-solving techniques to define or resolve routine problems
• • Complete daily powered industrial truck inspections, daily pallet jack inspections, maintain good housekeeping practices
• • Operate manual pallet jack, forklift, WAV, Taylor Dunn, JLG.
• • Utilize various hand tools such as tape measure, screwdriver, hammer, etc.
• • Follow preventative maintenance checklist and documentation
• • Mix and add chemicals for parts washers and water systems, as directed
• • Check wear on equipment parts such as v-belts, shaft alignment, oil and water levels on equipment; identify conditions that could lead to equipment failure.
• • Must be self-motivated and be able work independently

Requirements:

• • High School Diploma or HiSet (Formerly GED)
• • Regular, predictable and reliable attendance
• • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labels, Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• • Ability to work with computers and software systems, must wear all personal protective equipment PPE
• • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead
• • Must be able to climb, pull, push, kneel, crawl, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and lift up to 40 lbs. frequently, and lift up to 20 lbs. constantly
• • Must be able to attain a forklift license
• • Aerial Lift Training
• • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

• • Preferred 3 years of experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment with at least 3 months in production
• • Associate degree: Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Industrial Systems Technology, or Machine Tool Technology
• • Experience welding and setting up machinery
• • Experience using a pipe threader, lathe, mill, and welder
