40|86 is hiring a Structured Securities Analyst to conduct research and analysis leading to investment recommendations in the firm’s fixed-income portfolio.This is your opportunity to assist with identifying attractive investment opportunities (ABS, RMBS, Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS).
As a Structured Securities Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring existing positions through servicing data, sector research, and market participant discussions.
- Using vendor tools like Intex and Bloomberg to generate and evaluate cash flows.
- Evaluating pricing and performance attribution; supporting the communication of sources of return.
- Ongoing evaluation of capital markets trends that impact the securitized sector.
- May provide input into the company’s overall investment strategy.
- Following capital markets and investment trends that impact fixed-income markets
- Interacting with other members of the investment team including Portfolio Managers and Traders to help facilitate an effective investment decision-making process
- Continuously developing skills with internal and external company-supported resources.

What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or equivalent, required.
- Typically up to three years of investment experience.
- Strong Excel and database capabilities.

This role is affiliated with the Carmel, IN corporate office, and candidates for this role need to reside within a 60-mile radius of that corporate office and will be required to come into that office. You may be asked to travel to other corporate offices periodically. Please be aware that work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
