What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Residential Coordinator position at CO-OP?
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
The Residential Behavioral Coordinator is responsible for developing and administering an array of services and support designed to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Services include, but are not limited to, case management, transportation, the development of social relationships and providing support in the areas of recreational, therapeutic, and personal living skills.
This position is Monday through Friday 10am - 6pm with flexibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. (college participation preferred).
- Ability to comprehend and write English at traditional Grade 12 level.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Three years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Previous experience using training emphasizes proactive approaches to behavioral challenges, focusing on prevention and de-escalation rather than reactive measures which may include physical interventions.
