Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the maintenance department. This role ensures all production and facility equipment is maintained in optimal working condition to meet safety, quality, and production standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, a commitment to preventive maintenance, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, including technicians and contractors, providing training, development, and performance feedback.
- 8 years beverage manufacturing environment
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and utility systems for production and facility equipment (e.g., conveyors, pumps, fillers, chillers, compressors).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to support plant initiatives and drive operational efficiency.
- Manage the department budget, including maintenance supplies, spare parts inventory, and equipment procurement.
- Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance schedules, work orders, and historical records.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with vendors and outside contractors for specialized repairs and capital projects.
- Champion safety initiatives and ensure adherence to plant safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or beverage.
- 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed to support plant operations.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (cold, hot, humid).
