Job Summary
As an Assistant Superintendent, you are part of a small team responsible for overall management and maintenance of landscapes and grounds, ensuring equipment is well maintained and operational, and provide a variety of support as required by clubhouse operations. You will work closely with the current Superintendent who seeks to retire in the next 1 - 2 years.
This is a family owner operated business. Expectations are high. The individual must be trustworthy and overly responsible. There is potential for year-round employment for the right candidate or seasonal is certainly fine also if the applicant prefers. This is an entry level / assistant position leading to a Superintendent position being responsible for all golf operations. Earning potential based on ability to work independently and take on additional (oversight) duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing landscape maintenance activities
- Maintain and utilize irrigation system
- Acquire a spraying license needed for turf maintenance
- Be able to identify, treat and maintain an immaculate and manicured turf area
- Support events and ensure readiness to ensure a success and customer satisfaction
- Must have mechanical aptitude (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems)
- Maintain a logs for turf applications, maintenance, etc.
- Able to diagnose system or equipment issues and resolve
- Develop a budget
Experience
- Prior experience in landscape maintenance or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of groundskeeping practices and techniques
- Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining outdoor areas
- Mechanical aptitude - electrical, engines, mechanical, hydraulic, irrigation)
- Must be customer facing
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
