Programming
- Works closely with the Aquatics Director and our swim instructors to help create a first class swim program experience for our customers.
- Organizes day-to-day operations and special projects of the aquatics department, develops policies and procedures for program areas or division.
- Oversees implementation of all program activities, group and private lessons, ensuring effective management of time slots and client needs.
- Evaluates programs to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement and develops strategies for improving participation.
- Implements a positive culture with staff and patrons to ensure our programs and lessons are of the highest standard.
- Manage the ongoing progression of all children in our program and incorporate parent feedback. ● Keep informed on various trends and programs in the community and nationally that may be introduced, adapted to, and have effect on our program.
- Maintain and organize accurate data.
- Complete other duties assigned by the Aquatics Director
Staffing and Supervision
- Serve as Manager on Duty minimum of 2 nights a week and 1 weekend day. ● Recruit, onboard, supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate swim instructors.
- Coordinate all scheduling of swim instructor schedules, oversee scheduling of lifeguard staff alongside Head Lifeguard – Ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts
- Stay up to date on all required certifications for self and staff – supervise and maintain credentials for staff as needed.
- Participate in, and lead when necessary, regularly scheduled staff meetings for aquatics personnel to establish and monitor departmental goals as well as maintain safety standards. ● Provide training in our program to new instructors and work with our Aquatics Director on the ongoing development of all of our swim teachers.
- Ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Lifeguard and teach swim lessons when necessary
Facility and Equipment
- Ensure that the pool is maintained to the Department of Health Standards. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory requirements of the facility.
- Assist with the maintenance of the pool, to include cleanliness, chemistry and climate control. Check equipment daily.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of pool equipment and supplies alongside Head Lifeguard.
Administrative and Budgeting
- Monitor program registrations and redemption.
- Monitor and process program refunds/credits
- Provide daily and weekly reports and updates to the Aquatics Director.
Marketing and Communication
- Manage communication with the community so that information is presented clearly and in a timely manner.
- Clearly communicate policies and programs to families.
- Work with member engagement department to funnel leads into aquatics programs. ● Work with the marketing department to create flyers, boards, banners, e-blasts, and any other material to promote all aquatic programs. Participate in tabling events.
- Promote special programs and events
- Manage Social Media accounts alongside Aquatics Director
Community
- Build positive relationships with members, parents, children, and staff.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents, addressing concerns and providing program information and updates.
- Assist in yearly fundraising events and initiatives. Attend required staff meetings and departmental meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
This is a full-time position, with weekend and evening availability mandatory.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years teaching swim lessons
- Passionate about swimming and growing our mission of ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn to swim
- Experience working with American Red Cross Learn to Swim program
- Experience setting and maintaining swimming lesson standards
- American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification required (or obtain within 3 months of being hired)
- Current certified pool operator (or certification to be obtain within 3 months of being hired) ● American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred
- Experience with a customer relations database is a plus
Salary:
Hourly: $27-$31/hour, overtime compensation available when required
