What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Manager position at Coad Chevrolet Anna?
A privately owened automotive dealership group is currently looking for an experienced Body Shop Manager, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a good base knowledge of the industry. The Body Shop Manager will be responsible for developing business through insurance adjustors, customers, and other sources to ensure an adequate sales volume, provide a reasonable department operating profit, and maintain customer satisfaction while controlling expenses. The Body Shop Manager directs the activities of Body Shop employees in performing body repairs, meeting time schedules and productivity levels and maintaining quality standards. The Body Shop Manager will focus on coordinating workflow for appropriate shop capacity, collecting on accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, repair order reconciliation, generating accurate estimates, and quality control.
Hiring is based on background check, drug screen, and driving record results.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Forecast goals & objectives for the department and strive to meet them
· Stive for harmony & teamwork with all other departments
· Prepare & administer an annual operating budget for the Body Shop Department
· Attend manager’s meetings
· Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
· Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all Body Shop staff
· Direct & schedule the activities of all department employees
· Provide technical assistance to employees as needed
· Conduct meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest
· Monitor Body Shop payroll records
· Establish & maintain good working relationships with insurance adjustors
· Establish & maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat referral business
· Service as liaison with manufacturer representatives
· Greet all customers promptly and give fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs
· Break down estimates into labor and parts before the job is started so that the repair technicians are aware of time allowances
· Quality-check completed jobs.
· Handle all customer complaints
· Account for all documents; ensure that none are missing
· Prepare final billing for completed repair orders
· Collect accounts receivable for body repair work
· Follow up on Parts department orders to ensure parts availability
Qualifications:
· Proven track record of achieving goals
· Microsoft Excel is helpful
· Outstanding communication skills
· Professional appearance and work ethics
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
· Excellent at meeting deadlines
· Computer skills are a must
· Ability to build a good report with customers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
