Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical assistance to physicians, preparing procedural equipment, manage diagnostic tests, and providing both pre and post-visit support to our clinical and procedural patients. You will assist patients in a variety of ways, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout their treatment. This role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and escort patients to the examination room.
- Interview patients and accurately record their medical information.
- Document patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Answer patient calls and return messages as needed.
- Assist with patient preparation and positioning during fluoroscopic procedures, under the direction of the physician.
- Address patient questions or concerns regarding treatment plans, under physician supervision.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring sterilization and performing regular maintenance and testing.
- Ensure procedural equipment and medical supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Provide pre- and post-visit support to both clinical and procedural patients.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Extensive experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management Systems (eClinicalWorks preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong initiative and the ability to manage time effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to assist patients with standing, sitting, and transitioning onto examination tables.
- Fast-paced environment with constant interaction with physicians and patients.
- Must be able to stand, pivot, and walk frequently throughout the day.
- No nights or weekend shifts; consistent schedule.
