We are searching for an engaging, passionate, Business Accounting Technician- AP to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

Hourly Pay Rate: 16.50 - 17.35
Primary Site Location: Beeville

Essential Functions:
Provides exceptional customer services to students, staff, faculty, and the public; performs routine accounting work; work involves performing detailed assignments in recording, classifying, examining, and verifying financial records, documents, and/or reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides general administrative and clerical support including opening and sorting mail, data entry, mailing, scanning, faxing, copying, and answering Business Office phones.
- Organizes source documents, files, and other account related information.
- Posts standard monthly journal entries.
- Monitors daily receipts and bank activity.
- Ensures bank accounts have been funded prior to ACH or check runs.
- Supports accounts payable:
- Calls vendors regarding address changes.
- Requests updated W-9s.
- Manages returned checks.
- Prepares and process payment batches.
- Distributes or mails checks.
- Supports accounts receivable:
- Receipts money directly deposited to College bank accounts.
- Serves as a backup cashier.
- Tracks credits from TDCJ billing.
- Reconciles refunds/returns with Bank Mobile.
- Maintains confidentiality of all financial data.
- Assists with year-end audit.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements:
Travel may be required to other sites as needed.
Environment:
Responsibilities are performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume at various locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet/moderate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in accounting or business-related field required. A working knowledge of basic computer skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. One year of accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Degree Equals Bachelor's Details Equals Three years of accounting experience in higher education. Experience using Ellucian Colleague Finance
