Position Overview
We are looking for a Construction Project Manager with practical construction experience who can effectively balance hands-on work with project leadership responsibilities. This role is open to candidates across a range of experience levels:
- For experienced professionals: If you have a proven background in both residential construction and project management, this position offers an opportunity to oversee multiple projects with competitive pay and opportunities for growth.
- For skilled tradespeople: If you have significant hands-on construction experience but limited project management exposure, we are prepared to provide training to help you take on management responsibilities while maintaining a presence in the field
We are seeking someone who understands the nuances of construction, respects the hard work involved, and is ready to manage projects from start to finish with integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal teams to finalize accurate project specifications.
- Contract & Vendor Management: Source and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and excellent service.
- Permits & Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Scheduling & Planning: Develop detailed construction timelines and manage resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor expenses, forecast overruns, and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects stay on target financially.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site inspections to confirm work aligns with client expectations and Coastal Builders’ quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Motivate and guide crews and subcontractors, ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
- Client Relations: Maintain regular communication with homeowners to provide updates on schedules, budgets, and adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3–5 years of practical construction experience, with expertise in residential remodels and ADUs.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, permits, and codes; knowledge of inspection processes.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Willingness and ability to assist on-site as needed to ensure project success.
Preferred:
- Previous experience managing construction projects.
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP).
- Familiarity with construction management software and scheduling tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
