Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk at CCHC New Bern Internal Medicine Specialists. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and regulations. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping within our medical office.
Duties:
- Collect, organize, and maintain patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records
- File and retrieve medical records as needed
- Process requests for release of medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times
- Scan and upload paper documents into the electronic health record system
- Perform data entry tasks to update patient information in the system
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, abbreviations, and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
