Your Role & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Logistics Transportation Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the flow of products using the TMS software ensuring requirements are met and proper approvals are obtained. The position will also be responsible for providing quotes, negotiating rates, and reviewing and analyzing the cost information.
Job Description
- Arrange for pickup and delivery of freight via transportation management system software, ensure timeliness of deliveries, and communicate to appropriate personnel when schedules cannot be met.
- Review and approve freight invoices that do not match original quote or contract rates from carriers.
- Ensure carriers meet & maintain minimum qualifications to haul company freight.
- Provide freight quotes to buyers, sellers, and CSRs for customer bids.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
- Review and analyze delivery costs and make recommendations for more cost effective methods of transportation.
- Provide tracking information to internal and external customers as needed.
- Handle freight claims with carriers when freight is damaged in transit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college or university with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in shipping and receiving, transportation, or logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
