Overview:
Coastal Companies is seeking an experienced and motivated Landscaping and Snow Removal Production Manager to oversee operations at two branches. This role combines leadership, hands-on landscaping and snow removal work, and the effective use of management software to ensure that all landscaping and snow removal activities are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. You will manage a team of five crews, coordinate daily tasks, track progress, and ensure exceptional service throughout the year, across all seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and supervise five crews responsible for landscaping, grounds maintenance, and snow removal tasks. Provide leadership, training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure high productivity and quality work. Foster a positive and motivated work environment.
- Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance: Oversee year-round landscaping operations, including mowing, trimming, planting, fertilization, seasonal cleanup, and irrigation system management. Ensure the grounds meet aesthetic and functional standards for the site.
- Snow Removal Operations: Lead the snow removal efforts during winter months, including plowing, salting, and de-icing. Coordinate staffing and equipment resources to handle snow removal efficiently and ensure a safe site for all personnel.
- Software & Scheduling: Utilize landscaping and facility management software to schedule tasks, track work orders, monitor crew performance, and maintain accurate records. Update and modify schedules based on seasonal changes, weather conditions, and urgent needs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all landscaping and snow removal operations are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety meetings, provide ongoing safety training, and enforce best practices to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Inventory & Equipment Management: Maintain inventory of landscaping and snow removal equipment and supplies, ensuring that tools and machinery are in good working condition. Oversee repairs and replacement of equipment as needed.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the budget for landscaping and snow removal services, ensuring that operations stay within budget while meeting quality and service expectations. Monitor spending on materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (facility management, security, operations) to ensure coordinated and effective site operations. Communicate regularly with upper management regarding progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work for quality and consistency. Address any issues or deficiencies in service promptly and ensure corrective measures are taken.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in landscaping, snow removal, or a similar field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in industrial site maintenance or large-scale properties is a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple teams and tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with landscaping and snow removal software (e.g., FM software, scheduling platforms), as well as MS Office or equivalent software. Comfortable using technology to track work orders, scheduling, and reporting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, shoveling, and operating landscaping and snow removal equipment. Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme cold during snow removal.
- Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to landscaping and snow removal. Ability to implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for the team.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and during weather-related emergencies, as required.
