JOB TITLE: TASC/DWI Services Specialist

Location: On-site

City/Stat/County: Wilmington, NC-New Hanover

Travel: Some travel required within counties of North Carolina

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm, 40hrs/wk, Full Time

General Statement Of Duties

Aid with various Institute programs, including TASC Training, Alcohol and Drug Education Traffic School Instructor (ADETS) certification and training, Drug Education School (DES) Instructor certification and training, E508 and North Carolina Treatment Outcomes Program Performance Systems (NC TOPPS) TASC web applications training and technical assistance.

Required Education/Experiential Qualifications

Four (4) year college degree in human services or related field, combined with one (1) year of work experience within the judicial system or the substance abuse field:

OR

Associates degree, combined with (4) four years of work experience within the judicial system or the substance use disorder field

Position Highlights

• Assists the Director oversee and support the Institute's activities.
• Helps in obtaining monthly presenters for webinars on various topics on justice services and SUD.
• Examines ADETS and DES Instructor applications and recommends certification based on adherence to the relevant Administrative Code and General Statutes of North Carolina.
• Facilitates pre-certification training for ADETS and Drug Education Schools.
• Offers guidance, training, and other support for the DWI Services E508 and NCTOPPS TASC web programs.
• contributes to the creation and implementation of a range of online and in-person programs and curriculum, including the organization and conduct of conferences.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, and the relation of substance use disorders to individuals who are justice involved. Considerable knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and policies which govern assigned programs.
• Considerable knowledge of commonly used office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Ability to effectively communicate via phone, as well as in interpersonal settings
• Ability to learn and use a variety of web-based data reporting applications, combined with the ability to then teach, assist and support users of those applications.
• Ability to prepare, develop, and present courses and workshops.
• Ability to document and record data and compile reports in a timely manner.
• Physically be able to perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
