Salary Range: $39,303.00 - $56,000.00 Salary/year
Travel Percentage: Up to 50%

Description
Under limited supervision, is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the volunteer program and for the recruitment, retention, and assignment of volunteers.
Supervises Volunteer Services Coordinator(s).
Collaborates with leadership to recruit, hire, and train volunteers to support staff.
Provides a consistent high quality hospice experience for every patient and family served by:
Soliciting and identifying patient and family goals
Assigning volunteers to duties fitting their interests, training, and capabilities
Ensuring volunteers comply with State and Federal funding and accrediting agency regulatory standards
Provides assessment, planning, intervention, and ongoing evaluation of volunteer needs of patient/family by:
Ensuring representation and participation of volunteer services staff/volunteers in IDG meetings to provide input on patient/family support
Assisting in the development and amendment of the interdisciplinary plan of care based on identified patient/family needs
Utilizing volunteers to assist the patient/family to meet goals
Communicating proactively with appropriate Team Leader/designee to ensure patient/family needs are met
Utilizes social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Coastal Hospice website to increase recruitment and retention as appropriate.
Promotes the value of volunteer services and maximizes their use by:
Fostering communication among staff and volunteers
Developing a climate conducive to volunteer participation
Developing and implementing a system to recognize and reward volunteers
Coordinating educational programs for volunteers
Promotes hospice services, solicits community support, provides community outreach and education in the public and private sectors by:
Actively networking in community groups, such as the local chambers
Participating at the committee or board level of local not for profit organizations
Engaging in outreach activities
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient in the Microsoft Suite
Working knowledge of medical record documentation
Prior experience volunteering in a community service organization and/or managing volunteers
Experience in Healthcare preferred
Superior writing, speaking, and public relations skills
Demonstrated ability to educate and supervise volunteers with diverse backgrounds and responsibilities
Ability to communicate empathetically with volunteers and patient/families
