What You Will Bring To This Role:
As Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in coordinating, supervising and directing all property food and beverage operations, including outlets and banquet operations, maintaining a profitable operation, producing high-quality products and delivering excellence in service levels. The Food and Beverage Manager is expected to market ideas to promote business; hire and develop a service-focused and knowledgeable team; grow revenue, guard payroll/budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.
 
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow associates observing Coastal Core Values.
  •  Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Coastal Hospitality standards, as required.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform (if applicable) and nametag while working.
  • Comply at all times with Coastal Hospitality and hotel safety standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient Food and Beverage and hotel operations.
  •  Direct all F&B personnel
  •  Direct, train and motivate Assistant Food and Beverage Manager.
  •  Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner utilizing the ILEARN/ILEAD model.
  •  Assist in preparing the F&B budget,
  •  Monitor daily, weekly schedules, weekly payroll cost, department expenses and Food and Beverage cost. 
  •  Forecast Food and Beverage revenues daily, weekly and monthly. Take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations as needed.
  •  Monitor industry trends.
  •  Work cohesively with other F&B staff and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
  •  Keep the General Manager fully informed of all issues or matters requiring his/her attention.
  •  Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the F&B department.
  •  Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  •  Monitor quality of service and product daily.
  •  Cooperate in menu planning preparation.
  •  Ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation.
  •  Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
  •  Ensure departmental compliance with hotel and company SOP’s.
  •  Ensure the training of department staff on SOP’s, and technical job tasks.
  •  Attend and/or conduct any departmental training as needed
  •  Coordinate and share in the responsibility of interviewing of candidates for food and beverage positions and follow standards for hiring approvals.
  •  Conduct and/or attend all required meetings, including pre-convention and post-convention meetings.
  •  Report all workers compensation injuries in a timely manner to the HR Manager and prepare first reports of injury/illness
  •  Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager.
  •  Long hours may be frequently required. Weekends and holidays required
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience. 
  • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have knowledge of, or be proficient with company approved technology platforms including payroll, HRIS, POS, inventory, ordering systems, etc.
