Job Summary:
The Crane Operator role requires the operator to be licensed to operate a crane with at least a 30-ton capacity and have extensive experience in rigging, load calculations, and safe crane operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a crane (30-ton capacity or greater) in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Calculate loads using weight charts, rigging configurations, and lifting capacities to ensure safe operations.
- Perform pre-shift inspections and complete required checklists to confirm equipment is in proper working condition.
- Understand crane capabilities and limitations to avoid overloading and unsafe lifting conditions.
- Communicate effectively using verbal instructions and hand signals with riggers, spotters, and team members.
- Ensure safety is the top priority by adhering to all company policies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Remain alert and focused at all times to prevent hazards and ensure smooth crane operation.
- Work in outdoor environments and adapt to varying weather conditions as required by job duties.
- Perform other tasks as needed or directed to support operational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Valid crane operator license (30-ton capacity or greater).
- Proven experience in rigging and load calculations.
- Strong knowledge of crane capabilities, weight distribution, and lifting techniques.
- Ability to interpret load charts and determine proper rigging configurations.
- Effective verbal communication skills and proficiency in hand signal communication for crane operations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical capability to perform job duties, including climbing in and out of cranes and lifting equipment as needed.
Work Environment:
