Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in A/R, eligibility verification, and authorizations. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing practices within a medical office environment. This is an in-person role, remote work is not available.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate billing statements to insurance companies and patients.
- Utilize ICD-10 to ensure proper billing practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing.
- Verify patient eligibilities and benefits for appointments
- Tricare and VA authorizations
- Respond to inquiries regarding billing issues from patients and insurance representatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to medical billing.
- Other related duties as required.
- Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing; orthopedic or neurosurgery experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
