Medical Biller/Coder
JOB POSITION: Certified Medical Coder or Biller(or a candidate who’s willing to become Certified) in Wasilla

We are a local Medical Billing and Coding company located in Wasilla and we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our amazing team. The Individual must have 1-2 years medical billing experience. Common sense is a must. Person will need to be extremely detail oriented, organized, self motivated, and adaptable to change. Reliability and punctuality is crucial. If you like puzzles and feel like you are a problem solver this job is for you. CPC or CPC-A is preferred and job pay range varies if you are non certified versus certified.
Coding Department Essential Duties :
- Accurately Coding charges from chart notes
- Reviewing codes for accuracy
- Applying appropriate modifiers to CPT Codes based on insurance
- Understanding of NCCI edits, MUE edits, and any other insurance bundling rules
- Correct usage of ICD10 codes
- Understanding coding rules
- Reviewing charts for medical necessity based on insurance payment policies
- Submission of claims electronically, paper, etc
- Fixing claim rejections from the clearinghouses
- Ability to read and comprehend all insurance policies, rules, and regulations.
- Answer incoming patient inquiries via phone and email while providing great customer service.
- Working with other departments and clients
- Following all HIPAA regulations.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years patient account experience or medical office experience required. Previous coding, medical billing, payment posting or familiarity with EOBS preferred. CPC or CPC-A preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Mac computers, Numbers, pages, EMR/EHR systems, 10-key typing skills.

Position is Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. Pay $22-$28 DOE. After 90 day probationary period Employee will receive 8 paid holiday days a year and Aflac, after 6 months we have a direct care plan with Capstone Medical that provides medical care that we provide for the employee, after 1 year employer contributes $200 a month into an HRA for medical, dental, or vision expenses for employee, after 90 days employee can contribute to 401k plan with employer matching, and after 1 year employee will receive 2 weeks of paid PTO yearly with paid PTO increasing with employee’s length of employment.
