Training/Supervision/Direct Care
Coastal Opportunities is a non–profit agency which has served adults with intellectual disabilities in the Knox County area for more than 50 years. We are looking for a person who can provide direct care to residents in our 8 bed ICF/IID group home as well as train and coach staff on the floor to ensure they develop the skills needed for the job.
Supervisory duties: Provide ongoing training, skill development and coaching to new and established staff, enabling them to provide quality care to our residents and work as a team with their co-workers. This person will ensure protocols and procedures are followed.
Direct Care responsibilities: Assist residents to complete personal care and hygiene, improve communication and develop personal boundaries. Staff engage residents in activities and outings of their choice. Staff monitor medical needs and administer medications, documenting all aspects of care.
Schedule: Days /Evenings, 40 hours/ week
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour; commensurate with experience.
Weekend Differential

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, plus an Associate’s degree in social services or related field OR 60 hours toward a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year experience in the field.
Required: Valid Maine driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
