Position Overview:
The HR Generalist serves as the point of contact for employees regarding HR policies and procedures, as well as provides both administrative and strategic support and coordination for HR and employment related activities for a designated business unit. The HR Generalist partners with onsite leadership to address and resolve issues related to policies and procedures, compensation, benefits administration, labor law compliance, and employee relations.
Reports to: Director of Operations and HR Management
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Serve as the initial point of contact for employee issue resolution and investigations, partnering with the People Team and onsite senior leadership to boost positive workplace culture and enhance communication. Guide managers through people-related issues, providing training, coaching, and counseling.
- Compliance and Record Keeping: Ensure adherence to guidelines and regulations by conducting periodic audits and maintaining accurate HR records and documentation. Stay informed on federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for non-exempt and temporary employees, including background and screening checks. Oversee onboarding paperwork and procedures for new hires, ensuring accurate and compliant processing.
- Employee Retention and Offboarding: Collaborate with site management on employee retention initiatives and conduct exit interviews for voluntary separations. Represent HR during involuntary separation meetings.
- Performance Management: Maintain employee attendance records, administer disciplinary actions, and ensure timely communication and documentation of disciplinary issues.
- Payroll and Timekeeping: Accurately and promptly complete time entry and payroll processing, addressing any payroll inquiries or concerns.
- Leave Management: Manage employee leaves of absence and advise employees on their leave options.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by supporting and recording safety initiatives. Manage OSHA reporting to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Dallas facility, including managing budgets, meeting schedules, recruiting/staffing, events, employee relations matters, project work, correspondence, and communications for the Director of Operations.
- Process Improvement: Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for HR functions and processes.
- Training and Development: Facilitate mandatory meetings and training for all employees.
- Communication and Support Communicate with and support employees on new People Team programs and initiatives
Other duties may be assigned by the HR department and the onsite Leadership team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in a wide range of areas, including employment law, compensation, organizational planning and development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations.
- Experience in the administration of HR programs and policies.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to persuade.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- Spanish-English bilingual skills are preferred.
- Experience with 2-4 years of general human resources administration preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule. The general workweek is Monday through Friday, however during busy seasons (especially our Q4 peak season), additional time may be required outside of the standard weekday schedule. While the typical work week is Monday through Friday, additional time may be required outside of normal business hours, especially during Q4 and other busy periods.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
