Your Role:
As a Credit and Collections Specialist you will be responsible for managing the company’s credit policies and collecting outstanding debts from customers. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can effectively communicate with clients, resolve disputes, and ensure timely payments while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Evaluate and approve credit applications based on company criteria.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments.
- Contact customers to discuss their accounts and arrange payment plans if necessary.
- Resolve billing and payment discrepancies by working with internal departments and
- customers.
- Prepare and send out invoices and account statements to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all collections activities and customer communications.
- Prepare reports on the status of accounts and collections activities.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations regarding credit and collections.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to maintain positive relationships with clients.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a credit and collections specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of credit and collections processes and principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Waste industry experience preferred.
