Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent / Inventory Services Specialist with a proven track record in purchasing and inventory management to drive our operations forward. The individual will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products for multiple warehouses. You will manage vendor relationships, oversee weekly cycle counts, and continually seek out cost-effective pricing to maintain a competitive advantage. Your expertise in purchasing, combined with strong analytical and communication skills, will contribute to optimizing our supply chain and overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Procurement & Purchasing:
- Source and procure products with an emphasis on wholesale water technologies.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with existing and new vendors to secure the best value.
- Inventory Management:
- Process weekly cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Vendor Relationship Management:
- Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance regularly and seek opportunities for improved pricing or service levels.
- Multi-Warehouse Coordination:
- Oversee purchasing activities across multiple warehouse locations.
- Collaborate with warehouse managers to align procurement with operational needs.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and optimize purchasing processes.
- Implement best practices and contribute to system enhancements.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and inventory performance.
- Analyze market trends and provide strategic sourcing recommendations.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Finale inventory software is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
