Coastland | DCCM is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Supervising Civil Engineer position at our Fairfield office. This exciting role involves supervising designers and engineers while managing a diverse range of municipal projects, particularly in transportation as well as water and wastewater capital improvements.
About the Role:
As the Supervising Civil Engineer, you will lead a team of professional and technical personnel engaged in various engineering tasks, such as preparing proposals, work estimates, studies, and reports. Your duties will also include supporting the establishment and execution of departmental goals, overseeing the creation of intricate designs, plans, specifications, and budgets related to an array of engineering services. The role encompasses extensive civil engineering domains such as roadways, traffic systems, water resources, storm drainage, and sanitation, and may involve offering contract City Engineer services.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven work experience as a Civil Engineering Supervisor or in a similar role for 10 years
- Extensive experience with municipal projects
- Proficient in design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical documents and drawings
- Strong project management skills
- Active presence in the community through conferences, proposal interviews, city planning meetings, and state business events
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the work of professional and technical personnel engaged in engineering tasks
- Supervise the preparation of intricate designs, plans, specifications, and budgets
- Manage and coordinate various civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with established standards
