Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Coatesville Area School District is committed to promoting a positive student climate and belonging to provide a platform to foster a positive educational experience for all students.   Works collaboratively with district level instruction leaders to support the use of effective pedagogy, practice and curriculum to promote a positive learning environment. Plans, guides, and advises Superintendent and staff on matters relating to a positive school climate and belonging to instill fairness, respect and value for all students. 

  1. Collaborates with Administrative teams to create, implement, and monitor school climate programs to ensure fairness, respect, belonging, and connectedness of all District Stakeholders.   
  2. Collaborate with the Administrative Teams to develop trainings related to positive student climate and belonging that supports a welcoming and respectful environment 
  3. Monitor and assist with the collection of data regarding student achievement and offer recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.? 
  4. Assist with compliance and development of policies and procedures related to positive student climate and belonging to support the district’s comprehensive plan goals.? 
  5. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent, and building principals to assist with employee relations as needed and develop recruitment strategies that align with the district’s commitment to equal opportunity employment.   
  6. Develop metrics for measuring effectiveness of district-wide initiatives related to a positive learning environment with a focus to foster belonging. 
  7. Manage projects with up-to-date information and determine which new technologies are needed to successfully solve problems.? 
  8. Uplifting and acknowledging the achievements and through school and community events.? 
  9. Collaboration with the Director of Pupil Services and building principals for the purpose of  planning and implementation of all matters related to positive school climate and belonging.   
  10. Serve as an internal consultant to staff on matters relating to equity, inclusion, and diversity; coordinates the Equity Planning Committee building level Equity Teams, and community groups focusing on equity, inclusion, and diversity matters.? 
  11. Stay abreast of trends and innovation around positive school climate and belonging for the purpose of documenting activities, updating the website information, and for conveying information. 
  12. Research, draft, and submit proposals that help CASD receive grant funding.? 
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.? 

QUALIFICATIONS:?To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills, and/or ability necessary. 

  1. Master’s degree in education or a related field preferred. (Psychology, Human Resources, School Counseling, Multicultural Education, Social Work, Organizational Development, Communications, etc.) 
  2. At least three years of leadership experience in school counseling, student affairs and/or student support services. 
  3. Specialized training in restorative practices or trauma informed care is preferred. 
  4. Grant writing experience preferred.  
  5. Ability to establish credibility, relate effectively, and gain the trust of others. 
  6. Ability to interact effectively with and provide guidance to staff, students, parents/guardians, and community members. 
  7. Skilled at negotiating and consensus building to support administrative decisions and programs. 
  8. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. 
  9. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  10. Ability to efficiently manage time and a variety of responsibilities.? 
  11. Knowledge of PA School Code, EEO, IDEA, Federal Programs and related regulations in the field of education. 
  12. Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement educational best practices in the areas of student climate and belonging. 

Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
