Inside Sales Engineer Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic sales engineer to assist with the selling of Metal Finishing (Plating) services. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of manufacturing, Metal Finishing and related processes and assisting with closing sales where technical expertise may be required to fit clients' needs.

To be successful as a sales engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of problem solving and willing to learn our company's Metal Finishing products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to nontechnical customers. You should be driven to close on each project and should have excellent sales and customer service skills.

Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

• Preparing and developing quotations and presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers.
• Able to use Geometry to calculate certain properties of the components we are finishing.
• Discussing the metal finishing processes with customers and engineers.
• Collaborating with sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
• Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, completing quotations, securing and renewing orders and completing sales.
• Researching, metal finishing specifications or processes to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
• Helping customers who have problems with their products and recommending improved or upgraded metal finishing processes to meet or exceed their requirements.
• Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
• Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.
• Streamlining the quotation process.
• Guide engineering samples through the metal finishing process.

Sales Engineer Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or related field.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Experience in sales and familiar with metal finishing.
• Detail orientated.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
• The ability to relate technical information to nontechnical customers.
• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
• Good leadership and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to continue your sales, engineering or metal finishing education
