As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team and manage payroll operations for 50-100 employees across multiple job sites.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator with strong accounting knowledge and experience handling payroll for a construction company (C-36 contractor preferred). The ideal candidate will efficiently and accurately process payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and private payroll structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 50-100 employees.
- Manage certified payroll reports for public and private projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon Act requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
- Work closely with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation.
- Handle payroll audits and provide necessary reports to government agencies when required.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor compliance.
- Assist in resolving payroll-related inquiries from employees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in the construction industry, preferably with a C-36 contractor.
- Minimum 2 years of experience handling certified payroll reports.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and private payroll structures.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Understanding of prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union/non-union payroll processes.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payroll operations in the state of California.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction industry labor compliance requirements.
