Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Superintendent and Project Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the construction of a large tilt-up industrial building. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large commercial or industrial projects, specifically tilt-up construction, and will be responsible for overseeing both the field operations and project management duties from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring timely delivery of the project within scope and budget.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and labor resources required for the project.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, and ensuring cost efficiency.
- Lead project meetings, manage project documentation, and ensure proper reporting to stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure that all project-related activities comply with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
Superintendent Duties:
- Supervise and manage daily on-site operations, including the coordination of labor, equipment, and materials.
- Lead the site crew to ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure that the construction process follows the design and specifications provided by the architect and engineer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts between contractors and stakeholders.
- Manage and track the performance of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Perform regular site inspections to ensure quality control and resolve any issues promptly.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant codes and ordinances.
Leadership & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, ensuring clear communication among all parties involved.
- Provide leadership and guidance to site supervisors, laborers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain excellent relationships with the client, resolving any issues quickly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction project management, tilt-up concrete construction desired.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Certification, First Aid/CPR, and any other relevant certifications are preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects with tilt-up construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, budgeting, and project scheduling.
- Ability to lead and manage both office and field teams effectively.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, climb, and move around the construction site.
- Occasional lifting of materials and equipment may be required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience. $110,000.
