Summary Briefly describe the jobs primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.
Performs a variety of activities relating to the identification, collection, delivery, and preparing of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes for storage and disposal. These activities will be performed in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities List the jobs essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals.
- Collect, package, label, store, transport, and dispose of all hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste in accordance with all Federal, State, and local regulations
- Ensure containers in hazardous waste accumulation areas are closed, labeled, dated, and free of spills
- Ensure hazardous waste accumulation areas have adequate aisle space and free from spills
- Ensure hazardous waste containers in satellite accumulation areas are in their designated locations, closed, labeled, and free of spills
- Responsible for Gun Houses including filling MEKP, solvent tanks, cleaning of trays and containers, and reporting all leaks to Maintenance and EHS personnel
- Responsible for all MEKP cabinets including filling squeeze bottles, labeling, and cleanliness
- Responsible for proper management and disposal of MEKP containers ensuring container is completely empty prior to disposal
- Responsible for removing/emptying all hot material containers, placing in appropriate areas, and placing into trash according to the schedule
- Responsible for emptying all relevant Trash containers properly according to the schedule
- Responsible for emptying all Dust containers properly according to the schedule
- Responsible for empty barrels including picking them up at designated locations, storing them properly, and assisting in the pick-up process according to the schedule
- Responsible for universal waste including used batteries, lamps, mercury containing equipment, including properly collecting, labeling, dating, and shipping
- Responsible for Used Oil containers including properly collecting, labeling, dating, and shipping.
- Responsible for collecting and puncturing all aerosol container at the satellite areas and recycling of the metal containers according to the schedule
- Responsible for correcting any issues timely that are found in weekly inspections performed by EHS personnel
- Responsible for ensuring excluded solvent contaminated wipe containers and liners are properly labeled/dated, emptying said containers according to the schedule, completing the logs, completing the special waste manifest, and disposing into the trash
- Respond to hazardous material/hazardous waste spills and releases and assist in proper and safe clean up
- Actively participates in ensuring the workplace is safe and clean
- Operates equipment including but not limited to forklift, forklift attachments, drum flippers, drum dollies, utility truck, banding tools, corrugated compactor, pick-up truck, and other various facility tools and equipment as required to complete assigned tasks
- Ensures trash, scrap metal, and wood is placed in designated areas (e.g. dumpsters, trailers, etc) and communicated to Maintenance/EHS when areas need to be emptied/swapped
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with all chemicals used in the process and the location of use.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as SDS, chemical recommendations, OSHA/EPA standards and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and/or leaders of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Must be able to obtain the following certifications within 90 days and maintain based on regulation specifications:
Powered Industrial Vehicle license
Valid drivers license
RCRA hazardous waste training/certification
DOT Shipper training/certification
Spill response and clean-up training
Trained in the safe effective use of fire extinguisher
