Experienced Heavy Machine Operator (Hourly Range $20-$25 based on Experience)

Job Overview

Cobalt Civil, LLC, a prominent player in the electric and natural gas utility sectors, is seeking skilled Heavy Machine Operators to join our expanding team. Renowned for our innovative solutions and commitment to quality, we provide a wide array of utility services, including municipal sewer and water utility operations, subsurface excavation, job-site development, and civil works maintenance. This is a traveling role, requiring operators to serve clients across Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as skid-steers, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, drill rigs, and cranes with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safe operations.
• Engage in onsite safety planning and adhere to the company’s safety protocols.
• Report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to the direct supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of project sites and equipment.
• Follow the directions of the General Foreman or Foreman, ensuring all tasks are completed effectively.
• Safeguard work environments by exercising stop work authority when necessary.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining focus.
• Effective communication skills for clear instruction adherence.
  
  

Qualifications

• Class A CDL preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment including skid loaders, excavators, front-end loaders, and/or bulldozers.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Compensation And Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from \(20-\)25 per hour based on experience. Our benefits include:
