A Queens-based international real estate developer is seeking a highly qualified Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for creation of financial statements for an assigned portfolio, work with the Controller on new development financing, and create new internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Document internal control processes, GAAP policies, budgets, forecasts, and analyses.
- Customize and build accounting/finance systems to meet company needs.
- Manage company accounting functions, including general ledger and transaction documentation.
- Analyze financial data for assets, liabilities, and prepare financial statements (monthly/yearly closings, income statement, balance sheet).
- Reconcile bank accounts and accounts payable/receivable.
- Perform cash flow, expense, variance, and ledger analysis.
- Handle annual budgeting, profit/loss projections, cost, and acquisition analysis.
- Conduct internal audits and provide detailed control recommendations.
- Analyze cash requirements, prepare distribution calculations, and review disbursement documentation.
- Oversee year-end tax reporting and compliance, including workpapers, tax returns, and K-1 forms, in coordination with an external CPA firm.
- Manage cash across multiple companies and bank accounts.
- Collaborate with external auditors for annual audits.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with Real Estate experience being required.
- Bachelors in Accounting; Masters degree is preferred.
- CPA degree a plus
- Experience with large ERP systems such as MRI, or Yardi.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
