A newly created Senior Accountant role has arisen with a rapidly growing Construction and Renewable Energy firm, headquartered in the Westchester area. Partnering directly with the CFO, you will be a key business player among a number of cross-functional stakeholders as you assume ownership of the accounting function. The role is also highly analytical, involving analyzing data and reports within their ERP system and driving process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will either be a qualified or part-qualified CPA, either straight out of public accounting or working within another commercial organization.
About the Senior Accountant role:
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide support as needed
- Assist with the preparation of audits
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform general accounting duties, including account analysis and reconciliations
- Reconciliations of vendor statements, credit card statements and bank statements
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Manage tax exemption certificates
- Prepare sales tax returns and schedules
- Oversee purchase order process and reconciliation
- Assist in job costing analysis
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA qualified or part-qualified
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or a similar role within a commercial organization
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles
- Strong Excel skills (specifically Pivot Tables and Lookups)
- Sage Intacct, BuildOps, or similar systems
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
