Organization Overview

Cobb Community Foundation (“CCF” or “Foundation”) is a grant-making public charity that ACTIVATES GOOD. Our mission is to be a catalyst for a thriving community – mobilizing people, ideas and resources to improve quality of life in and around Cobb. We accomplish this mission by creating and implementing collective giving strategies by and for our community, by offering charitable tools for individuals and organizations, by leading local efforts in community problem solving and by supporting local nonprofits and helping them to build their capacity.

On a day-to-day basis, we work closely with individuals and businesses who have established charitable funds, non-profits who are serving our community, and other community stakeholders who, like us, are working to create in Cobb an even higher quality of life.

Position Overview

The Director of Fundholder Engagement ("Director") reports to the CEO and is responsible for developing, stewarding and growing current and prospective fundholder relationships, serving as a strategic advisor, fostering strong relationships with donors, professional advisors and nonprofits. The Director ensures that these clients’ charitable goals are met through personalized service and specialized expertise, providing information about grant opportunities, and actively cultivating ongoing engagement to maximize their giving (and, for agency fundholders, their serving) impact.

The Director manages CCF's Professional Advisor Network ("PAN") and the development and management of our Legacy Society. The Director has primary responsibility for the design of donor appreciation and education events with event management and support provided by other staff members.

Director also supports the CEO in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and individual donors through CCF’s Corporate Community Champion, Catalyst Society and other programs.

Responsibilities

Fundholder Services

  • Management of CCF’s fundholder relationships, developing a deep understanding of each donor’s unique needs and wishes, deepening relationships between CCF and fundholders and ensuring an exceptional customer experience
  • Oversight of fundholder services, including ensuring accuracy and completeness of fund, fundholder and prospective fundholder records in CSuite and any other applicable systems
  • Development and implementation of stewardship and cultivation strategies focused on growing relationships with existing fundholders as well as establishing new fundholder relationships
  • With CEO, continuous refinement of our services to ensure that we have adequate and appropriate resources to provide the tools and services that help our fundholders identify and meet their charitable objectives and that benefit our community while being fiscally responsible with our own resources

Legacy Society

  • Development and promotion of a planned giving program to engage donors in long-term support of the foundation’s mission
  • Education of potential donors and advisors on the benefits of legacy giving and guidance through the process
  • Integration of the Foundation into donors’ estate and legacy plans, including preparation of proposals for family meetings to effectively communicate the Foundation’s benefits
  • Fostering Charitable Giving

  • Creation of vision for and oversight of planning and implementation of donor cultivation and stewardship events such as small gatherings, luncheons, cocktail events, and educational opportunities to build partnerships with donors
  • Development and stewardship of professional advisor relationships, including management of Professional Advisor Network, creation of vision for and oversight of planning and implementation of professional advisor educational outreach events to continually update and guide professional advisors in the charitable and planned giving arena
  • Regular participation in community activities and events to enhance CCF’s image and, including speaking to groups, participating in civic engagement, and overall immersion in the community by networking to foster a culture of giving

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Experience : 8 years of experience in philanthropic services, charitable planning, fundraising, development, or a related field, preferably with a nonprofit or foundation or a professional services firm (law firm, accounting firm, financial planning and / or investment firm)
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CFRE, CAP or other relevant professional designation
  • 15 years’ experience in philanthropic services, nonprofit fundraising, private wealth management or related field
  • Strong knowledge of charitable planning and planned giving
  • Experience with donor management software / systems
  • SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS

  • Proven success in managing and growing client relationships
  • Experience working with professional advisors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling cases for support
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of donors, community leaders, and partners
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with donor management software and reporting systems
  • Organized and detail‐oriented, with the ability to excel in a fast‐paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities and problem‐solve

    Position : Full-time exempt

    Salary : $90,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

  • 401(k) eligibility after 1 year with 3% employer annual contribution

  • 15 paid holidays
  • Office closed week of July 4th (in addition to above)
  • Work from home option up to 2 days / week after 60 days of employment depending on performance
