What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design Project Manager - Property Management position at Cobb County Government?
The purpose of this classification is to provide interior design services for County-owned buildings and facilities. Develops and creates technical documents for constructions and renovations: participates in discussion of proposed design with clients; analyzes space and other requirements for renovations; takes necessary measurements and photos; creates inventory of existing furniture, equipment and appliances to determine their usability and needs; and creates, designs and computes drawing dimensions in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).
Creates designs for proposed renovation or relocation based on client requirements, supervisor's diagram, building codes, American with Disabilities (ADA) requirements and budgetary considerations; submits designs for review by construction, ADA, maintenance, Information Services and Energy Analyst; and incorporates their suggestions into final drawings.
Creates final construction documents including: demolition plans, renovation plans, electrical plans, lighting plans, furniture and cabinetry details, and finish plans based on interior designer's selections, and observes construction during renovation process and creates as-built drawings for archiving.
Obtains building permits for construction from City of Marietta or Cobb County Fire Marshal and code enforcement authorities as directed.
Ability to utilize specialized design related software and large format scanners. Selects colors, materials and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept of the specific department and to meet functional, maintenance, life-cycle performance, environmental and safety requirements that meet or exceed County standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in interior design planning and implementation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
State of Georgia Interior Designers License - Registered Interior Designer (RID) desired.Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, and difficult customers.
