Position Summary
- This position is responsible for the safe transport of Cobb products between contract farms and/or complexes, some local and long haul egg pick up assignments and/or team driving assignments. Participates in Cobb driver safety program, completes all required DOT and Ryder paperwork. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must have Class A CDL with a clean safety record and one year verifiable driving experience in a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle.
- Drives vehicle to transport Cobb products between contract farms and/or complexes. (25%)
- Loading of Cobb products into modules and on to the truck for transport to designated farms, other Cobb complexes and/or processing plant. (25%)
- Cleans and disinfects vehicles, modules and equipment. (25%)
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: C omplete all DOT and Ryder paperwork, participate in Cobb driver safety meetings , maintain a clean and organized work area, and fill in for egg or chick truck when needed. (25%)
- The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

- Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Load and unload chick boxes, egg racks, move wheeled egg buggies, when loaded, weighing up to 1000 pounds, per delivery. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit the majority of shift while operating the truck; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate written and orally with customers.
- Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed.
- Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants.
- Safety: Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies. Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include, but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
