Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to a positive workplace culture. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR department.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and documentation.
- Screen resumes and coordinate interview schedules.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Communicate proper information at shift change to ensure other shifts have required instructions.
- Support coordination of employee engagement initiatives and events.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support the preparation and submission of compliance reports.
- Assist with the development and enforcement of HR policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Bilingual in Spanish is required.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
· Associate’s degree in related field required.
· Prior related office experience preferred.
