The Cobleskill Agricultural Society works closely with the community to promote all industries of agriculture for community involvement and education.
Position Summary - Office Staff:
The office staff position serves in an operational capacity, answering phone calls and customer walk-ins, in a professional and positive manner. Strong customer service and communication skills are key. Position requires any candidate to be available to work seasonally from May through the end of August.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate and mail annual vendor contracts for the County Fair and community events to be held on the Schoharie County fairgrounds.
- Generate and mail sponsorship request letters to businesses for monetary support of events and operations of the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair.
- Requires good organizational skills, working with maintenance staff and event staff to schedule and organize events on the grounds.
- Ability to work with organizers of events to identify specific needs of the event and effectively communicate the terms of the contract with maintenance staff.
- Processing exhibitor entries for fair and judging results from fair contests for processing and mailing of premium checks following the fair.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines associated with scheduled events.
- Communicate effectively with customers, staff and Board of Directors.
- Ability to work with other office staff, sharing job responsibilities as needed, maintaining office coverage with a heavy focus from May through August.
- Always maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Other duties as needed.
