What will you do as an Accounts Receivable Manager?


As part of the Business Support Services Team, the Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible providing financial and administrative services to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. This position is also responsible for ensuring accurate invoicing, payment application, and collection activities, as well as managing the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Receivable team. The Accounts Receivable Manager reviews and manages customer risk for the Company and provides monthly reporting of key financial and accounts receivable related business indicators to management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and supervise daily and monthly activities of accounts receivable and ensure accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.
  • Assist with communication on past-due accounts in a professional manner through personal phone calls, email and other acceptable forms of communication.
  • Create and adhere to Credit and Collections Policy.
  • Review credit applications to ensure adherence with the Credit Policy.
  • Monitor stale accounts and delinquent accounts.
  • View deposits, enter and post control sheets, and enter/post received on account (ROA-payments received from customers not yet in EOSTART) for outside Sales Centers.
  • Manage the end of month process and ensure all reports are distributed to the appropriate individuals in a timely fashion to include trend analysis, aging, allowance analysis, and in-depth risk analysis.
  • Communicate with the Sales Department on a daily basis or as needed on status of accounts.
  • Review and post AR adjustments.
  • Work toward an overall Accounts Receivable balance objective set by the company.
  • Continuously evaluate processes to identify potential efficiencies. Recommend changes in process to take advantage of efficiencies.
  • Coordinate staffing to ensure routine tasks as well as special projects are completed on time.
  • Keep Manager up to date on progress and completion of routine tasks as well as special projects.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as directed by Manager and/or Corporate Officers.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators in areas of responsibility and report to Manager.
  • Assist with collections for Company which may include second and final contact.
  • Under recommendation of Senior Management, approve small claims filing and bad debt write-offs and Third-party collection submittals according to Company policy.
  • Provide general support for other positions in the department.
  • Provide reports as needed to management.
  • Ensure AR statements are prepared and mailed the first day of a working day each month.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with, abide by and re-enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures and processes.
  • Maintain and follow all Internal Control Policies.
  • Work with Business Support Services team to continuously foster a positive work environment.

  • Supervise and coordinate work activities of department staff.
  • Coach and mentor staff in developing and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular performance feedback.
  • Include staff in planning, facilitating and process improvement.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent accounts receivable and/or accounting experience.
  • Three to five years supervisory experience required.
  • Three to five years customer service experience required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work involves walking, talking and hearing; using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using a computer terminal.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

  • None

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.
  • Must be willing to travel to other company locations approximately 5-10% and attend out-of-town training and/or seminars.
  • Working hours vary between 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. depending upon schedules and the season. Monday through Friday; 40-45 hours per week. Additional hours may be required.
