Job Overview
The Materials Supply Specialist is responsible for ensuring supply continuity for all packaging and ingredients for 11 production locations by managing the details surrounding the procurement, distribution, additions, deletions, and communicating the required raw materials and promotional packaging to our internal functional groups and suppliers. This position also provides raw material forecasting, inventory control, and promo packaging management to minimize obsolescence for the Company and execute new item commercialization plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
Procures raw materials needed to execute each promotion and new SKU introductionsCommunicates SKU details to manufacturing facilities, Cost Accounting, Product Supply Planning, Raw Material Suppliers and Material Master Team, including but not limited to the timing, allocations, raw material code set up, and sourcing requiredMonitors and tracks on time execution for innovations, LTOs and promotional packagingManages inventory balances from suppliers to ensure the appropriate inventory levels of all raw materials are available from plant to plant or other bottlers to avoid obsolescence and supply continuity issuesSecures LTL shipments to move materials between plants as necessary to prevent supply continuity issuesTakes proactive measures to minimize overall raw material obsolescenceUpdates the required raw materials during graphics changes, formula changes, SKU deletions, and packaging changesMaintains and submits forecasts to approximately 20 Raw Material suppliersManages the Defective Materials System to ensure timely reimbursement from raw material suppliersAdministers promo production versions in SAP for all promo SKUs at each production centerIdentify and propose process improvement and efficiencies within Raw Materials teamKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong knowledge of the beverage or consumable products industry is preferredProven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of management to achieve desirable outcomesProfessional demeanorCompetency in the use of MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint, SAP Materials Management, Blue Yonder, SharepointAbility to prioritize multiple assignments with varying deadlinesProven record of being proactive, attention to detail and having a solution oriented mindsetExcellent communication skills. Strong analytical , organizational and time management skillsAbility to represent the company, brand and culture with excellenceAbility to develop professional relationships with others (suppliers, NAOU, CCBSS, field users, etc.)Background and experience in materials management, Procurement, operations, supply chain, and production schedulingMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (4 years)Knowledge acquired 7 or more years of work experiencePreferred Qualifications
4 years of Procurement or Materials Management experienceBS, BA Business or Logistics, Supply Chain preferredWork Environment
