Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position: Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom and/or laboratory environmentDevelops, prepares, and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses, and plans for students’ educational and social needsCollaborates with other faculty and staff in the assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvementMaintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the departmentResolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College officialPerforms other related duties as assigned.General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective, and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Work Environment: Work is performed in a classroom, laboratory, office, or online setting under limited supervision.
