Coconino County Parks and Recreation is seeking a Fair Superintendent for the 4-H/FFA Junior Club Work Department for the 2025 Coconino County Fair. Superintendents must be able to work all four days of the Fair as well as receiving, judging, outtake and Fair workdays. Superintendents are required to attend monthly planning meetings located at Fort Tuthill from January through August. Fair Superintendents manage their department’s buildings, entries, and demonstrations. They are responsible for coordinating the recruitment of judges and volunteers and must supervise the assigned building during fair hours. Previous experience with Fairs is a plus but not necessary. Training is provided. The 2025 Coconino County Fair dates are Friday, August 29th – Monday, September 1st. The fair is open 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Friday to Sunday and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Monday. The Fair Work Day is scheduled for August 16, 2025. Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor for support of the lessee events program.Please Note: There is one (1) open Superintendent position, 4-H/FFA Junior Club Work.This is a temporary position that does not include benefits.Fair Superintendents will receive a $571.20 stipend upon completion of the Fair.For more information, please call 928-856-4901.

(Illustrative Only)Attends monthly planning meetings located at Fort Tuthill from approximately October through August.Must be available and assist with department receiving, judging, check in/weigh-in, outtake, and Fair Workday for your specific area.Manage department buildings, Fair entries, and demonstrations.Recruit and coordinate volunteers to help with building duties and outreach during the fair.Works cooperatively with the Coconino County Parks and Recreation staff to identify and coordinate judges.Supervises the assigned building during fair work hours, approximately 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.Effectively communicate with fair staff, volunteers, fair exhibitors, and the public.Essential functions include but not limited to sitting, standing, in close vicinity people and livestock, walking and bending; twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy loads up to 60 lbs.; working with and around event producers, supervisors, and other crew members; interruptions; repetitive motion (elbow/shoulder); vision acuity (near/far); hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity/touch. Environmental factors may include and not limited to work outside; noise exposure; use of mechanical devices; exposure to odors and dust.
